G3 FAQ:
- Is there a lot of pedaling in the Super-D? We're getting this one a lot. The SD is more of a DH-lite style course. In fact, we've run straight DH on this course before. Come to think of it, it's not really that 'lite".
- Can I register for an individual stage? Yup. No problem. We'll be taking registration on-site for both 3-stage participants and single-stage entries.
- Are you chip timing? Nope. CJ Timing is back on board for the remainder of this year.
- Can I race head to head with my bros? Oh yeah - just let us know at registration.
- Will Pros get start intervals in Super-D? Yup. One minute for both DH stages, TBD for Super-D
- Will the Super-D be a mass start? Yes.For the amateur categories. Each category will start 5 minutes apart. The pros will get short intervals between individual starts.
- When does online registration close? 11PM MST on Wednesday, October 3rd.
- Will the bike park be open to the general public during the event? Yes and no. We're going to keep as much terrain open as possible, but during race times the courses will be open to competitors only. At the conclusion of racing we'll have whichever course we jusy used back open within minutes. We're sensitive to the fact that a lot of you just want to come up and ride so we promise to do our very best to make that as easy and as enjoyable as possible. And if you're interested in seeing some World Cup athletes put the scorched earth treatment on your favorite trails, you just might want to grab a good seat in the trees and watch as the world's very best DH'ers descend on Angel Fire.
Lodging:
- Where can I stay for cheap? Lots of options. Head to www.angelfireresort.com and let them know that you're coming for the G3.
Camping:
- Plenty of it at the base area, but no RV hook-ups. The resort charges $10/night for camping in the lots.
Lift Tickets:
- Just like this year's Angel Fire NMBS, lift tickets will be $15/day. This gets you full access to the mountain and as much riding as you can stuff in.
Event Photos:
- Head to VastAction.com for shots and clips of this weekend's racing action.
I need more info!:
- No problem. Give me a shout at 970-333-1159. (quick qualifier here: I have an 13-month old who wakes up when the dog yawns at night - please keep calls between 7am and 7pm! TX!)
The Rocky Mountain G3 Gravity Series and The Mountain States Cup regional Championship Mountain Bike Series are the property of Bigfoot Productions. Which is owned by Yeti Cycles. Which is in Golden, Colorado. We believe that great racing helps grow the sport of cycling. We believe that it grooms future champions that will one day stand atop podiums in remote parts of the world wearing stars-and-stripes jerseys. We think racing should be competitive, but not at the cost of being un-fun. We also believe that there’s room at the table for all bike manufacturers, not just us.
